John Michael Montgomery has turned an uncanny ability to relate to fans into one of
country music's most storied careers. Behind the string of hit records, the roomful of awards and
the critical and fan accolades that have defined his phenomenal success lies a connection that goes beyond his undeniable talent and his proven knack for picking hits. Since the days when "Life's A Dance" turned him from an unknown artist into a national star, John Michael’s rich baritone has carried that most important of assets--believability. Few artists in any genre sing with more heart than this handsome Kentucky-born artist.

If you’ve been blessed to get to know Vicki and Tim Bauer, then you know they have hearts as big as a Texas landscape in springtime. They are the owners and caretakers of a true Southeast Texas treasure – Bauer Ranch, an outdoor event venue for elegant weddings, memorable family reunions, unique company gatherings and much more. The ranch, framed by majestic oak trees and peaceful water surroundings, is located in Winnie, Texas. When you step foot onto this splendid property, you’ll never want to leave – or at least that has been our experience!
Vicki and Tim have been generous supporters of the American Cancer Society for many years. They joined the Cattle Baron’s Ball volunteer committee, working through the ranks and serving the American Cancer Society’s mission, eventually Chairing the Ball in 2016. “True Grit” was selected as that year’s theme, which was symbolic not only because of the epic film starring John Wayne, but because of the shear grit a person must possess if they face a cancer diagnosis. Ironically, Tim faced his own diagnosis that same year and continues to bravely battle multiple types of cancer today. Vicki and Tim are living examples of legendary Texas hospitality, generosity and true grit. We are extremely proud to announce them as the 2021 Southeast Texas Cattle Baron’s Ball Honorees.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted how the American Cancer Society safely conducts the Southeast Texas Cattle Baron’s Ball and other event experiences in your community. In the event that ACS is unable to deliver any of the benefits above due to alterations for public safety, we will personally notify you to discuss benefit substitutions.
